The Bothy museum could not operate without its reliable group of volunteers.
The Museum has over 30 active volunteers who each share a keen appreciation for Portsoy's local history and current day activities.
Being part of this team offers a chance both to gain and share knowledge of local history whilst helping to provide a valuable community resource to the people of Portsoy and beyond.
There are varied opportunities, ranging from interacting with our visitors, through to assisiting people with family history searches and the maintenance and cataloguing of our artifacts and museum collection. Team members are given training in tourism and ancestral research and other aspects on an adhoc basis such as recording oral history.
There is also the opportunitty to help out with the organisation and running of events taking place Upstairs at the Bothy.
